Storyboards

Take me back to Australia/New Zealand!!! The theme for my first storyboard is the Aborigines. The ancient aboriginal people had many customs of dance, body scarification and village life. I wanted to look at the atmosphere and weather when I chose my silhouettes. Breezy, cool and comfortable dresses and separates were the garments that I thought would best represent the feel of the down under.

Norway anybody? I love the warm and cozy feeling of sweaters in the cold! For my second storyboard I wanted to go with a Nordic feel. With this style and trend, the garments mostly consist of cool colors. You can match Nordic prints with many pieces and you can also mix and match other pieces with Nordic printed sweaters, capes, skirts, dresses and pants.

What do y'all think?! Post your comments and opinions!!

  1. I really love your fall/winter 2012 story board! The chunky sweaters, cool color palette, and interesting weaves make for a comfy cozy style!

  2. Colorful sheer and fluid fabrics always look great, so your Aborigine inspired storyboard is my pick, especially with Spring right around the corner! I love the idea of full length dresses that can be worn out in the sun and your board definitely captures the flirty side of Spring fashion.

  3. Your boards suit your blog really well. The Motherland-Aboriginals-Norway: The thematically fit very well together.

I feel like your first board may be too busy or something. It feels crowded.

I love the second one. But that's probably because its my heritage. I absolutely love how you depicted your color palette in this one, instead of just squares stuck side by side.

  4. Both of your boards are very interesting and rich in theme. I feel like the Aboriginal theme is stronger and lends itself to more color, silhouette, and surface design inspiration- so that would be my pick!

  7. The Aborigines board has a lot going on for me, personally, I would dial back the very lat background image to a deep purple or black - just so that your first layer pics wont get lost
I absolutely adore the second board. It was really interesting how you made the overlapping color story

  8. I absolutely like your Fall/Winter 2012, oversized sweaters, amazing prints and earthy colors are just awesome. I suggest you to add a brown tone to your color pallet to give it a warmer look to your color theme.

  9. At first glance, your first storyboard seemed a little too busy. But as I read into it, the loud patterns and bright colors began to make sense. I think the inspiration of the Aborigines was a great idea. But I would still tone down the photos a little. Narrow down the focus a little bit. Nice work.

  10. I feel like your first board is the most inspiring but I do think it's a little busy I wish that the first board had the simplicity and organization of the second board.

  11. The colors of the first storyboard at awesome! It really draws me in and makes me curious about what the line is going to look like! The long flowing dresses are very different for the color story which makes the board even more interesting!!

  12. Hard to choose which one, but the second one is my favorite, it's put together well, the color story is cool, and of course the fashion appeals to me the best.
